That mix matters for pest control. The older brick ranches in Archdale usually sit on crawlspaces, where termites, camel crickets and mice find damp wood and easy entry. The newer homes are more often on slabs, where ants and termites come in along plumbing and expansion joints instead.
What Archdale homes call about
Spring brings termite calls, mostly from houses with wood steps, decks or landscape timbers sitting on the soil. After a heavy rain, ants come up into kitchens. Wooded lots and the yards near the creeks around Creekside Park hold mosquitoes all summer. And once the nights get cold, mice start showing up in garages and crawlspaces.
