The town's history runs much deeper than its housing. Oak Ridge Military Academy dates to 1852. But most Oak Ridge homes are bigger houses on wooded lots, many with decks, screened porches and crawlspaces or basements. That's ideal for spiders, carpenter ants and mosquitoes, and termites can forage in the stumps and fallen limbs nearby.
The summer call is mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are by far the most common summer request in Oak Ridge, and the shady wooded lots are the reason. Spiders on decks and porches that back onto the woods are next. Termite calls usually come from homeowners whose builder pre-treatment has expired, and in fall we get mice in garages and basements.
